what is up with these offers on craigslist? They seem to be fishing for desperate, yet super-skilled people ...

I read some guy bragging on one list , "I don't get out of bed for less than $45/hr" .....

uh ok, but who would do this work for $12/hr? ... and how do they expect to find quality people? Is it some kind of scam?

Yeah, that's weird.

I mean $45/hr is pretty much the standard, so I guess I could see $20/hr. My friends told me there's tons of work-for-free stuff out there which will pay as a partner if the business takes off. A friend of his helped make some widget for Facebook and made a mint - but he initially worked for free. Maybe it's something like that? Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense. No one that skilled would work for that little.

Are those real?!

Unless they're getting a piece of the deal (stock in a start-up), anyone with a Bachelor's degree who is willing to do skilled work for $12 an hour, might as well just shoot themselves. And then the person writing these ads ought to be shot as well.

"Telecommuting is okay" is probably the key. Think international.

they are going after the international market clearly
but can they find anyone reliable at that wage?
The dollar is so weak now that $12/hr is worth less outside the country

who do they want? India? Kazakhstan?
I would apply but the money is shit and they might not pay . I have no experience and want to learn
